I'm such A Fool

14 February, 2013

I have to admit, I’m such a fool
didn’t have a rose, chocolates, not “cool”
I’d forgotten the day, so special in year
so I wrote this poem, for you, my dear

Your name, so short, it fits the day
the day when roses are on display
but today was different, it was a story
that took our hearts, in all it’s glory

“La Eterna Noche de las Doce Lunas”
at this years Berlinale, Yep, “Sowas!”
but even though we watched and heard
I secretly held your hand and purr’d

And then we went to have an expresso
in Caras (but it was more an Nespresso)
to talk of family, blue nails, constellation
you smiled, laughed, with contemplation

I watched your hair, soft rivers of golds
behind your ears, layered in folds
and bathed in your beauty, from eyes and face
no flower can match, or rose of taste

Then marvelled at the joy, so deep
to be near, to touch, wanting to keep
to hold, to embrace and give you some love
and then lastly, the U-Bahn, a wave, red glove

What remained was the feeling - You are so near
much more than a friend, so known, so dear
and wish that love comes swirling your way
and takes you for a ride, on some warm sunny day
